Welcome to INLAND CRUISING.  This website was created to share cruising stories about the inland waters of the United States and other countries.  Some offshore cruising will be included, and the logs of M/V HAWKEYE II are a good example.  We plan no trips around the world or across the oceans at this time.  The trip logs of M/V ILLUSIONS (the 1995 Carver 440 pictured to the left) are about more numerous, shorter cruises from 1997 - 2002 beginning and/or ending in Houston, TX.  That is the boat we had when we started this website in June 2000.

In 2002 I added our cruises on the first ILLUSIONS (the 1990 Carver 38' Aft Cabin pictured to the right) from 1992 - 1996.

Beginning in 2003, a new M/V ILLUSIONS (2002 Grand Harbour 57 Pilothouse, pictured at the top of this page) began cruising from its point of purchase in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  I did not want to put Roman numerals after the name, so I trust dividing the cruises and boats up by years will be clear.  Cruises on these three boats cover 16 years so far.  Click on CRUISES to choose a boat and read its cruise reports.

I value your comments and input, and making new friends is one of my main goals in hosting this website.  You can send us an email at David@InlandCruising.com or Angela@InlandCruising.com.  We'll be very glad to hear from you.  Some have said they cannot see the Hoover Buttons, so we're eliminating them.  Enabling Java script on your computer will solve that problem, I'm told.  See our new BOAT NAMES page, and send us some cute names to add to it.  Thanks!

Part of our plan is to offer these cruising stories in printed form, so that those who prefer to read the printed word can do so.  The printed booklets are great gifts for those who like to read about travel on inland waters by boat.  They are also easier to use when the computer is not available - at night, away from the phone lines, underway on the water, etc.  Some older people who like cruising do not like computers, so these logs can make good gifts for those friends or relatives.  The color photographs are numbered and referenced in the text by number, and the paper used to print the color pictures is special paper for that purpose.

We have been given permission to reproduce here the logs of several other boaters who share a love of the inland waters with us.  I hope we will have more of these soon.  Enjoy the adventures of our friends on M/V MIMI; M/V NORDIC; M/V OUTBOUND; M/V HAWKEYE; and others.

I hope you enjoy these Cruise Reports.  Included are maps, logs, and color photographs of fascinating scenery from places not too far away.  Some of these you can only see from the water.  There are many possible cruise destinations in and close to the USA, so check out a few of these and go cruising yourself!  We will have some Links here with information to help you have a great trip.  We also have references below to the rivers, lakes, and bays we have traveled, so you can click on one you're interested in and see our logs for that stream.
