TO TN CRUISE

David downstream of Douglas Dam on the French
Broad River

Douglas Dam and Lake

Black cows enjoying the cool Tennessee River waters

Upheaval of rock along the bank of the Tennessee River, Watts Bar Lake

Looking back at Smith Creek, the end of the creek away from the main river

We liked that home on Watts Bar Lake, just downstream of Smith Creek

The bird on the right kept his wings out like that for a long time - a
mating ritual?

Cruisers headed for Knoxville for the first Univ. of Tennessee football game
of the season

Entering Blue Springs cove, we saw this large group of geese on the water

Angela bought this orchid to take back to Houston with us

Looking through the opening to our anchorage at the Tennessee River beyond

John and Corey had backed into a cove and used two anchors

Looking away from the river, those two boats also anchored in the cove

M/V KATYDID, John and Corey's 44' Gulfstar

Watts Bar Lake looked great!

That house was on one side of the cove

That house was on the other side of that particular cove

Beautiful Watts Bar Lake

Another shot of the pretty lake

The beginning of the shortcut, "for small craft only"

The channel was marked by red and green arrows on poles

The channel was barely deep enough, below 6 feet at times

The channel was probably not wide enough to pass two vessels at a time

The poles gave way to floating green and red buoys as we approached the lake
again

Looking back at the shortcut, on the right

Another very attractive home on the lake

Angela at the pilothouse door at our anchorage in Lowe Branch

David in the dinghy with the pretty Lowe Branch all around us

Beautiful sunset, Lowe Branch, just above Watts Bar Dam

Leaving Watts Bar Lock on a rainy day

Fishing in the rain is not crazy, is it?

Fog was not uncommon for those weather conditions, Chickamauga Lake

The harbor at Dayton, TN

Descending Richland Creek; count three green buoys in the photo

Both sides of the valley had pretty trees and exposed rocks in the banks

A partial view of the Model Railroad Museum, Chattanooga, TN
